The release of this year’s final-quarter data, from the UK Government Education Statistics, gives a complete view of Skills4Pharmacy’s continued progress in pharmacy apprenticeship delivery. We have seen another year of strong growth across both Levels 2 and 3, with total pharmacy apprenticeship starts rising by 43%* and marking yet another consecutive year of sustained expansion.
Significant growth in Pharmacy Technician apprenticeships
Pharmacy Technician apprenticeships remain the fastest-growing part of Skills4Pharmacy’s provision. Starts increased by 65%** which reflects the increasing demand for higher-level clinical skills in the sector. Pharmacy Technician learners now represent more than 60%*** of all pharmacy apprentices at Skills4Pharmacy. This highlights the value employers and learners place on clear progression routes and career-focused training.
Supporting national workforce priorities
Skills4Pharmacy is proud to support the PTPT (Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician) programme, and we would like to thank NHS England for their continued investment in Pharmacy Technician development. This funding has enabled us to guide a substantial number of apprentices into training, giving employers across community settings greater capacity to grow their teams and build clinical capability for the future. Their commitment to the pharmacy workforce is helping to create strong career pathways and a confident, skilled profession for years to come.
Strengthening position across major providers
With the full-year data now complete from the UK Government Education Statistics, Skills4Pharmacy remains the number one provider of Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant and Level 3 Pharmacy Technician apprenticeship training.
A focus on people, careers and long-term workforce impact
This year’s growth reflects a sector that increasingly relies on apprenticeships as a core workforce strategy. It also reflects the trust employers place in Skills4Pharmacy to deliver training that is consistent, high-quality and linked to long-term career outcomes.
Jamie Crinigan, Managing Director at Skills4Pharmacy, said:
“Every number in this year’s data represents a real person making progress in their career and an employer building a stronger team. That is what motivates us every day. Skills4Pharmacy exists to support people into the profession and to give the sector the talent it needs. I am incredibly proud of our apprentices, our partners and our team, and I look forward to expanding these opportunities even further.”
