Apprentices Supported to Succeed at Knights Pharmacy

These apprentices, each on their own path, are all united by the support they receive from their employer, Knights Pharmacy, and the dedicated tutors at Skills4Pharmacy.

Sophie

Sophie is just four weeks into her new pharmacy role and is currently going through the enrolment process to become an apprentice, already captivated by her new role. Working in Pharmacy was a dream come true. Caring for the elderly and a lifelong fascination with healthcare, inspired by her mother and sisters’ nursing careers, had finally found its focus.

Haniya

Haniya is undertaking her Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant apprenticeship after changing from her university path. A last-minute change of heart had led her here, and she couldn’t be happier. This first job was a revelation. Balancing work and learning, something she’d honed running a charity in college, came naturally. Skills4Pharmacy’s supportive “family unit” has been crucial, especially in those first, uncertain weeks. Their encouragement keeps her on track. “Follow your inspiration, learn about the sector, be patient, and always ask questions!

Jake

Meanwhile, Jake, a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician apprentice, found camaraderie in his study group. The lessons, the support from his tutor Amy, and the shared WhatsApp group where they tackled challenges together – it all clicked. The biggest hurdle is juggling his busy schedule with deadlines, but the one-on-one time with Skills4Pharmacy staff made all the difference. Knights Pharmacy has even provided a laptop to overcome connectivity issues. “Learning in a live environment, applying what I learn – it’s invaluable,” Jake said. His advice to others? “Stay in touch with your tutor and fellow learners.” With a recent promotion to assistant manager while his manager is on maternity leave, Jake’s career is already taking off. In five years, he envisioned himself as an ACT in a specialised field, perhaps even cancer research.

Zuzanna

Zuzanna’s story was one of rediscovering a love for learning. After a decade away from education, the weekly lessons are a breath of fresh air. The small group size and personal attention from Skills4Pharmacy make her feel seen and supported. The challenge? Balancing her newly promoted role at Knights Pharmacy with her studies. Time management is key, especially when unexpected absences arise. Marion from Skills4Pharmacy had been a lifesaver, providing one-on-one support and helping Zuzanna manage her workload. “It’s a good way to work, improve your skills, and learn more,” Zuzanna shared. “It’s a way to better yourself.” Knights Pharmacy, she added, is a fantastic employer that offers flexibility and support. “They treat you like family,” she said. “I see myself staying here. There’s so much room to grow.
